At Brigit, improving financial health doesn’t stop at building tools for the app—it extends into how we show up for our communities. In 2025, Brigit employees came together across teams and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to support organizations addressing some of the needs facing Americans today—from food insecurity to access to basic necessities and educational resources.

A cornerstone of this year’s efforts was a company-wide charitable donation driven directly by employee voices.

Fighting hunger with Feeding America

In December 2025, we donated $100,000 to Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization. Why? It mattered to our team. Brigit employees made the choice—they were selected through a company-wide employee vote, reinforcing Brigit’s belief in empowering people to take part in decision-making.

“Brigit is powered by people who bring different perspectives and experiences to the table. By trusting our team to help guide where we give back, we’re able to show up for communities in ways that extend beyond our app,” says COO Fara Remtulla.

Food insecurity affects millions of Americans and often intersects with financial stress, health challenges, and long-term instability. By supporting Feeding America, Brigit is helping fund both immediate hunger relief and programs that address the root causes of food insecurity—supporting individuals and families on the path to greater stability.

ERGs at the heart of our initiatives

Beyond financial contributions, Brigit’s ERGs brought their values to life and translated them into actions. Together, ERG members organized, volunteered, and donated their time and resources to causes aligned with equity, dignity, and well-being.

Across 2025, ERG-led initiatives included:

  • Serving dinner to more than 600 food-insecure New Yorkers at The Bowery Mission
  • Assembling 100+ menstrual hygiene kits with Sidewalk Samaritan to support individuals experiencing housing insecurity
  • Filling 50 backpacks with school supplies for elementary school students
  • Donating personal hygiene products through the Bowery Mission Summer Drive
  • Contributing to food rescue and relief efforts, including donations to City Harvest
  • Coordinating coat and toy drives to support families and students with limited resources

These efforts were made possible through collaboration across ERGs representing caregivers and families, minorities and underserved communities, LGBTQIA+ employees and allies, neurodiversity advocates, and women and gender-diverse employees.

As Bonn Basabe, leader of the Pride ERG and Thriving Minds ERG, puts it, “Our Employee Resource Groups have shown that community is not defined by proximity or profession, but by our shared commitment to every individual. Hands-on involvement—through education, material donations, acts of service, or amplification of community-led non-profits—strengthens us all.”

Building internal community and awareness

In addition to hands-on service, ERGs hosted educational events, cultural programming, and speaker sessions designed to deepen understanding of the systemic challenges that impact financial health. From Lunch & Learns on history and inclusion to workshops focused on mental health, stress management, and workplace belonging, these initiatives helped connect Brigit’s internal culture with its external mission.

“Some of the most meaningful conversations I’ve had at Brigit have happened during Lunch & Learns. Sitting together, sharing food, and hearing perspectives from across the company about everything from civil rights to indigenous cultures makes Brigit’s commitment to open dialogue feel real.” – DeVaughn Robinson, leader of the Minorities & Underserved ERG.

Looking ahead

Brigit’s charitable efforts this year reflect a simple belief: when employees are empowered to lead with empathy and purpose, impact follows. From a six-figure donation to Feeding America to dozens of volunteer-driven initiatives, 2025 demonstrated what’s possible when a company comes together around shared values.

As we look ahead, community impact will continue to be guided by the voices of our team—because building financial health is about more than money. It’s about dignity, stability, and showing up when it matters most.
